This shot was taken in San Basilio de Palenque, or Palenque for short, which was founded by those who fled slavery in colonial times. Here the water is used as a mirror but with the floating flowers it becomes another surface or even a night sky. For locals water has the symbolic function of being a portal that can be used to reach Africa once again.
