* solo shows

“My work focuses on producing images that span the gap between fiction and documentary photography. Generally portraying figures and landscapes as my favorite subjects, which are based on geographic location, identity and popular culture. Up to this point, most of my photographic output has consisted of low-light repetitions and large crowds celebrations in Caribbean culture. As a result, elements and characters from my memories are transformed into works that are braided with recurring concerns and themes.

As someone who grew up listening to Vallenato music, a genre that tells stories with poetry and evokes a range of perceptions, oral archives are particularly important to me, as they enable me to craft images of stories I heard or experienced through collective memory.”
